For years, I've used WinAmp for mp3s, BS Player for films and PowerDVD for DVDs. But, it was too much for my antique machine. And, come on, 3 different programs for such a thing? No way.
A friend recommended me Foobar. This is a very light and simple media player, that makes a convenient list of the mp3s and has a handful of options like FLAC support, total time played. I use it since then and I'm really pleased to have it.
For any kind of films (avi, mpg, DVD and so on) I use KM Player. Very light and stylish, has a number of features and yet is so easy to use.
Another good media player is GOM Player. I don't use it, despite its advantages, it has an ENORMOUS disadvantage - reminds me of my ex
Btw, the software, listed up there, is free to use and won't cost you a dime. Nice, eh?
